Host Gator Blog

Every company should have a way to be able to get the latest and greatest information out not only to their customers, but also to their own employees. HostGator has a good way to do both with their company blog called "Gator Crossing". The tone is very conversational, and the latest post is even tagged "comedy", which just goes to show that the people running HostGator are not only human, but have a good understanding of how to relate to others, customers as well as employees.

One of the good things that is accomplished by this blog is the announcement of new employees. This is a great way for everyone in the company to get to know the "new guy" so that he will feel more at ease in the workplace, as well as others feeling able to talk to him easier. Since the blog is a company blog which makes direct referrals to the owners, it would seem that they are the ones behind the writing.

Another reason why that may be is because of the fact that the activities of the owner are also mentioned in some interesting blogs. Also, open opportunities within the company that people can move into or apply for are listed here as well. This would seem like a great way to keep employees knowledgeable about ways in which they can move into better positions, or be able to put their two cents in as to their replies regarding the open positions.

A post that is listed which is not only interesting to read, but also very educational is regarding "Cyber Squatting", including copyright issues. While this information is very important to those who are involved in online business and e-commerce, it is not always up to the forefront of online marketing news. With this posting, a person is informed of what the terms mean, why they have importance within the online business community, and what is currently happening to it. Those who are involved with domain names and web hosting need to be aware of this current important news.

Almost as an example of how copyright issues can affect online businesses and web hosting comes a blog posting which talks about some of the competition of the company. While beginning the host with praise about just how good of competition that the hosting company may be, it continues and actually visually shows just how the other company not only utilized the same page design, but actually used the same page, with only minor adjustments.

The blog does contain valuable information, even if the person reading it is not an employee of the company. With technical information that is discussed about the latest phone applications all the way to learning about donation situations that they are going through which could happen to any company, it is a good read. Replies are smart and though out well which adds to the interaction which is available to the blog's readers.
